Overview

Many questions about the long-term impacts of contracting Covid-19 remain unanswered. Understanding how the novel coronavirus affects health outlooks is critically important, especially for patients already belonging to a vulnerable medical community. The University of California San Francisco’s Division of HIV, Infectious Diseases & Global Medicine is pioneering research into the effects of Covid-19 on male patients testing positive for HIV. To aid recruiting for the division’s Long-term Impact of Infection with Novel Coronavirus (LIINC) study, the research team requested a design of a series of campaign ads to reach prospective study participants on the digital dating platform, Grindr.

The campaign ad’s visual aesthetic is an appeal to Grindr’s user base, which averages between 18-24 years old (source).

The study is currently in its recruitment phase with trials projected to begin in early 2021.
